This group is different from most others on meetup.com (and to be honest, isn't for everyone). This is a *non-commercial* / *not-for-profit* / *quality-controlled* social group - primarily intended for 'young' Londoners of a 'mature' disposition (aged 22-35) who would like to meet-up, socialise and enjoy a variety of events in and around London with like-minded people.*
Our events are usually of the cultural / educational type (e.g. museum/gallery exhibitions, talks/debates, international dining, etc.) or more of the entertainment / fun variety (e.g. cinema, theatre, live music, comedy, etc.) or even both ;) We also occasionally organise more outdoor / physical activities (e.g. walking/hiking, cycling, sports, etc.), as well as day trips out of London.
However we generally prefer to adopt a quality-over-quantity approach with regards to the type of 'meetup' events we normally run (as well those individuals who might attend such events).
In any case, we encourage members to be 'active' - i.e. participate fully and regularly within the group - so should you have any comments, queries or suggestions (especially ideas for meetup events), feel free to post on the group message board or at the 'suggest a meetup' section within the members area... :)
* N.B. Before requesting to join, we ask all prospective members to be aware that this is primarily a social activities/events group and NOT a personal dating service (or 'pick up' site), and so to please be mindful and respectful of other members' privacy / personal space. Any inappropriate, 'predatory' behaviour towards other individual group members, whether by sending unsolicited messages via the group website or by emotional/physical 'manipulation' or 'harassment' at actual meetup events (especially through the use of 'PUA'-type routines/methods), will not be tolerated, and will most likely result in removal from the group.
* N.B. This group has a strict 'three strikes' removal policy regarding unreliable individuals who repeatedly no-show for meetup events - for further details about this, please see the following link... http://tinyurl.com/ylmnsp16
