Let's check out De Leon Springs state park. There is the Old Spanish Sugar Mill Restaurant where you make your own pancakes (they have other things on the menu if you don't like pancakes) where we can have breakfast.
They offer canoe/kayak rentals there, or we can go hiking on the nature trail. There is also a swimming area if the weather is warm (or if you are brave if the weather is cool- the water is 72 degrees year round).
I know the park fills up quickly in the summer, I am assuming it does in the fall as well. They will close the entrance if they fill up. The restaurant may have a wait, but we can explore a little while we wait.
Park entrance is $4-6 per vehicle (depending on number of occupants).
Kayak/canoes are $10 per hour, or $21 for 4 hours.
Hiking is free.
Bring your appetite, good walking shoe if you want to hike, sunglasses, sunblock, and bugspray.
