Do you have a spouse, partner, parent, or friend who is younger than age65 and has memory loss or has been diagnosed with MCI, Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder? Have you ever wished that you could connect with other younger caregivers in the same boat? Then this Younger Onset Caregiver Meetup is for you. Join us for friendship and conversation in a relaxed and casual environment.
If you have someone who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia but is not under age 65, please go to www.alz.org/mnnd to search our general dementia caregiver support groups. There are many in the Twin Cities and beyond that are meeting on an ongoing basis. You can also call the Alzheimer's Association Helpline at 800.272.3900 for resources and to search for groups in your area.
1. This group is not open to people promoting products or services.
2. This group is not intended for the person with the diagnosis. Call the 24/7 Helpline at 1.800.272.3900 to be directed to resources for the person with the diagnosis (and their care partner)
3. This group is not intended for persons caring for someone with a more traditional diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or other dementia OVER the age of 65. The under 65 population is unique and comes with a different set of challenges. There are support groups available for caregiver and others interested in support when the diagnosis is later. Again, call the 24/7 Helpline at 1.800.272.3900 for assistance to find a group near you.
