Let's Talk about 'Ordinary Grace' by William Kent Krueger

Here's the next one!  I'm just going to pick the top three choices, as they stand now.  I'll add them all to our calendar in the next week or so, but won't guarantee the dates yet.  Looks like some good summer reading--thanks for voting!

Thanks, Kate. I appreciate your posting these comments about the discussion. Wish I'd been there. I had mixed feelings about the book and would've enjoyed hashing them out.

The book certainly opened up some healthy debate. So many levels to address. Beth did an admirable job subtly smoothing feathers and moving the conversation. It is not a secret that I admire the father's restraint, will, and inclusiveness. The character reminds me to be mindful. Such a difficult internal action when all around us is turmoil, exclusion, bigotry, and hate.
Not to succumb is a daily endeavor to swim against the tide. (Could be see from a Buddhist viewpoint, too.)

Hey there....I'm not going to be able to make it after all tonight. I've gotten about 1/4 of the way through and am enjoying it and was hoping to have read it all by now. Hope to see you all next time. Happy discussing!

Really enjoying this book and would've loved to hear what people have to say but I'm only halfway through. Thought I'd make progress yesterday but the day blew up on me and today's looking no better. Sorry. By the way, if anyone's in the mood, could you post a summary of the discussion?

Sorry, all, I never managed to pick up the book. It's been a crazy month. I'll try to be at the next one.

Hello everyone--I hope you enjoyed the book. Christina found my error (typo maybe?)--we had said we wanted to try meeting at 6pm, to give us a bit more time to talk, but I wrote 7pm instead. We'll meet at 6:00, for those that can be there then. See you soon!

My RSVP is a probably. So 7pm instead of 6:30? Thanks.

Good catch, Christina! Not sure why I said 7pm, when we had agreed we wanted to try 6 instead. I'll be there at 6:00.

I might be confused, did we change the date for this one or was it the next one out?

    June 1, 2014

    • Beth

So far, this date hasn't changed. After this, we'll meet in mid-August.
