Zeitgeist Day 2014

Hello everyone, it's that time of year again so please join us in London to hear some great speakers  & as always Z-Day gives members the opportunity to socialize, make new friends, discuss & hopefully put into action your own ideas with many different people.

This year we have Rou Reynolds from the band 'Enter Shikari' giving a presentation, also Desmond Kilroy from the 'Centre for the Advancement for the Steady State Economy', Myles Dyer, Ben McLeish with more to follow. A full programme will be released before the event.

I think that might be a speed record.

A note to anyone else who can't make it to London regularly: if you have a fluent grasp of English then the international linguistic team needs your help. They don't only need multi-lingual people for translation, but before TZM's media is translated from English to other languages, subtitles are first transcribed and rigorously proof-read for accuracy and clarity.
That first step is crucial not only to translation, but because there are over 10 million people in the UK alone with some form of hearing loss (3.7m of 'working age' and 0.8m severely deaf, with more in North America), who are grateful to anyone who goes to the effort of providing high-quality subtitles.

Around this time of year the linguistic team has their greatest workload, for obvious reasons. The blog team is also in need of experienced people to proof-read and edit articles.

Ben was a top-notch MC as always, and while it was sad that some speakers didn't make it, Liam's unrehearsed act was a joy to see, so very well organised by Tom.
I'd love to see a guest from the Pirate Party in a future event, since there was some lively discussion around basic income, and PPUK seem eager to try up-to-date technical solutions, unlike some of the old socialist groups we've tried to engage with.

Amazing! Massive thanks to the tireless Tom Williams for putting on a great show. Please can everyone who attended sign up for the TZMUK mailing list and London meet up group and stay in the loop as we will be pushing to get into schools, hold joint organisational discussions and initiatives on transition and doing public awareness campaigns as the summer (hopefully) rolls in. Thanks. James-TZME

Looking forward to the full programme; I'd like to know what's organised for any social events around/after the main event.
