Hike and Mediation to Annapolis Rock (Washington County)

We will meet at 12 PM at the parking area on Rt. 40 (Near Greenbriar State Park). We will hike up to Annapolis Rock (approximately 1 hour, 15 min). There we will have a time of rest, socializing and enjoying the scenery (it is a GORGEOUS view of the valley, so bring your cameras!) Then we will find a quiet spot to do a time of mediation (which I will write and lead). It will be a verbally guided, general mediation. Then we will hike back down. The hike is a moderate hike. Hiking boots recommended. Total time for the event, probably about 4 hours. When we finish, if people wish to they may go out to eat together. There are places nearby in Hagerstown.

The scenery was terrific - the forest was on fire and Greenbrier Lake glistened like a sapphire. And Faith did a good job leading the meditation. Even the dogs connected with their Buddha nature.

Beautiful sunny skies. The meditation spot was ideal to face the sun.

This was my first meditation attempt and I enjoyed it. The session could have been a little longer though. Thank you!

If anyone has any specific questions about the hike or event, email me directly, please! I can't always get on this site! [masked] If someone needs an address for GPS purposes use greenbriar state park, as indicated in the original meetup info. Note, we are NOT meeting at the park, but about half a mile away from the park entrance. Faith

Send me a PM if you need a ride. I got Ashish and I can take two more comfortably, or three more less comfortably (middle seat in back of a sedan).

It's semi steep for about 1 mile of the 2.25 each way (and gravel/dirt).

@jen, thought I had joined it already.

Well I know how to get there... But now I realize that the confusion was because Annapolis Rocks is not anywhere remotely near Annapolis. Also didn't mention but you go north on 17

Hi. To get there, go on 270 north to 70 north, take exit 42 (rt 17) Follow this through the town and go left on rt 40. You will go up long hills and see a parking lot along the road on the left. If you pass over 70 again on a bridge then you went too far.
