NEW LOCATION: Meetup Jan. 25: Zend ACL and Authentication

By request, we will be discussing the Zend Framework components concerned with Authorization (Zend_Auth) and Authentication (Zend_Acl), critical for managing application security.

What: Zend Framework ACL + Auth

When: Tuesday, January 25, 2011, 8:00 PM

Where: Suspenders Restaurant
111 Broadway
New York, NY

As usual, the Zend Framework meetup will be at TGI Friday's after the regular NY-PHP meeting (

P.S. The NY-PHP meeting beforehand (also at Suspenders--new location) will be great. It's a talk on PHP unit testing by award-winning speaker Bulat Shakirzyanov.

Bulat's NY-PHP talk about Unit Testing revved us up for a good Zend Framework meetup. We covered the Zend_Acl and Zend_Auth components of Zend Framework and, at the request of an attendee, showed the basics of building an MVC-based app with ZF.

Ah, a not so fun topic at first. but Zend makes it easy to master. I have working code samples if needed.

Bryan, how about Tuesday, Jan. 25, after the NY-PHP meeting? That's our usual schedule. If this works for you, I'll schedule it.
