This is a new group for Zoomer women; women who are age 50-plus, and who are active, sociable, curious and who want to make new connections. Our objective is friendship and comaraderie. We intend to meet to do interesting things together, talk, share, exchange ideas, learn from each other, laugh, and enjoy the company of other interesting women in a comfortable, supportive environment. We may explore new venues, learn new skills, or meet at various places that are part of our Toronto and GTA.
It is important for women to have close meaningful relationships with each other. Good friends provide a level of understanding and communication that positively affects your health, wellness and attitude. Our goal is to create a welcoming group where women can socialize and feel comfortable with each other. Join us for coffee, dining out, movies, performing arts, day trips, tours, quiz nights, pot-luck parties. There are other possibilities too: wine & cheese parties, lectures, book discussions, community events, walking/hikes, street festivals, tea parties, antique shopping.
We intend to create a supportive community and a climate of mutual respect, trust and consideration. If your friends have moved away, if you are new in town, if you are single, widowed, divorced, married and/or retired, or if you just feel the need to expand your social circle and make new friends, then this is the place for you. We are one of the very few Toronto groups for mature women.
"One can never have too many friends."
As a Member of the group, we encourage you to propose new Meet-up events. We also need more Asssitant Organizers. If you're interested in this role, please let us know.
Photos: We ask that you post a photo of yourself (not of a cat, a flower or a sunset). Seeing each other is an important aspect of connecting.
A few starting house rules: We expect common curtesy. If you RSVP Yes for an event, please show up, or provide reasonable advance notification that you're not able to attend. This is what one would be expected to do among friends.
