Overview and review of CSS frameworks

  • May 28, 2009 · 7:00 PM

Jeffrey Barke, a developer and
not a designer at theMechanism has worked with Web application and JavaScript frameworks, but never CSS frameworks. In fact, he has always actively eschewed them. However, after a recent New York Web Standards Meetup, the topic came up and he decided to review a number of them. This is less a presentation than an exploration of some CSS frameworks. If you have practical experience with any of them, please come prepared to share your joys and frustrations. Are any of the frameworks better from a designer's perspective? If so, which?

Covered a lot of bases, I didnt even know about this topic, so it was very helpful.

As someone who is fairly new to the world of web design, I actually learned a lot about the field from attending this meetup. If you are very familiar with the topics covered then it's easier to grasp the discussion. Otherwise, it's good food for thought and I was inspired to learn more. Overall, whether novice of advanced you can get some pretty good info from it.

Had a lot of fun--fostered some good, open discussion of pros and cons of a number of frameworks.
