Sorry for the late notice and cross-posting, but if you haven't heard about it yet and are free tonight, you might be interested in "Taming 3rd-party content: ads, widgets, trackers" tonight at the New York Web Performance Meetup.

Taming 3rd-party content: ads, widgets, trackers

Third party content slows down our site while we don't have control over it.

Ad banners, JavaScript widgets, analytics trackers - they all contribute to site's slowness and sometimes are biggest offender.

Sergey Chernyshev will present about reducing the harm caused by these tools and best practices for consumers as well as creators of such 3rd party content.

Agenda looks like this:
6:30 :: Check-in & Mingle
7:00 :: Presentation
8:00 :: Q & A
8:30 :: Networking & Open Discussion

Once again, Interactive One is hosting us and provides pizza and refreshments!

205 Hudson Street (entrance on Canal St.)
6th Floor
New York, NY 10013
