Join us for a fun and friendly ice skating evening at the Dolder Ice Rink!
As I organise this event already for the 3 year on row, if you want to learn to skate as an adult, this is possible, every first Thuersday of the month. I will teach you the basics and feel save to skate on your own.
The atmosphere at the Dolder Ice Complex is unique: surrounded by wooded countryside, this 6,000 square meter ice rink - the biggest artificial ice rink of Europe and in Switzerland - is a quiet and relaxing place. The complex, which has been renovated and enlarged in recent years, blends harmoniously into the background. each Christmas there is a big Christmas tree and 20000 led lights giving this event a great atmosphere
(below text i "lent" of Stefano, thx for that great schedule)
We are doing it as a regular event, meeting every Thursday until the end of the skating season (please still check Meetup each week to see if the event is running).
For those using public transports, we'll meet at 19.00 at the funicular train station of the Dolderbahn in Römerhof (tram lines: 3, 8 and 15) and take together the 19.10 ride to the Dolderberg (last station).
The next meeting point is in the skate rental/changing area at 19.30. Otherwise, you will find us skating on the ice! Call or text me on 0041 79 946 38 43 to locate one of the organisers. I will be at the ice ring at 1930 waiting at the rental place.
Beginners are welcome, we'll help you with your first moves every first Thuesday of the month on the ice, and you can progress by skating with us every week.
The event could be cancelled in case of bad weather: an update will be posted on Meetup by 16.00 on the day of the event.
Entry costs 8 Sfr, the skates rental is 7 Sfr. For more details, see the official website of the venue:
- As we have two meetups going at the same place this is not a problem, due to the fact that Stefano is a great organiser of hike and outdoor and is there as well. It is about meeting people in this nice atmosphere, so you may find out we are all expats loving the ice... :P
