Saturday Morning Running Club

Amy Fiske is certified personal trainer (NSCA). She is offering a friendly, non-intimidating running club. Her intent is to provide those of us who have never been runners or maybe we were once a runner but we lost our motivation, a low cost, personal training experience via a runner's group. Amy will provide us her support, motivation and expertise. We will spend about 45 minutes in length, including a warm-up, jog / walk of no more than 1-2 miles and a cool down. We will be building up to 3 miles running over several weeks. For those who are interested, Amy will also help us prepare for a 5k in the future. (TBD) 1st session is free and 10 CHF thereafter (please note this website does not offer a CHF payment option). Please bring cash or pay in advance by emailing Amy for the details.     Hi,

    Here is roughly what we did last week:
    Warm up-
    ➢ Slow jog, backwards jog (repeat)
    ➢ Walking hamstring/hip stretch (Toy soldiers)
    ➢ Lunge with stretch
    ➢ Lateral squat move


    Main-
    ➢ 2min run 1min walk X1
    ➢ 3 mins run 1-2 min walk x4-5
    ➢ Stride count for 1 minute count how many times the left leg hits the ground then x by 2 = stroke count per minute. Try to beat the first stride count this will help increase your pace as the aim is to have short strides and quicker leg turn over.

    Strength exercises & cool-
    ➢ Rev lunges x 45secs and squats 45secs w/hold 20secs (x 2sets)
    ➢ Crossover, figure of 4, regular stretches

    If you would like to challenge yourself; 1)decrease 'walk' time 2)and/or increase run time 3) increase squats and lunge time 4) and/or increase number of sets.
