- Skiing in St. Moritz - Easter WeekendNeeds location
Join me for some St. Moritz skiing during the long Easter weekend.
There are 3 main ski areas easily accessible from St. Moritz: Corvigila (163 km of slopes, good mix of blue/red/black runs), Corvatsch (120km mostly red runs) and Diavolezza-Lagalb (45km of red and black slopes).
Accommodation and ski pass
Everyone is responsible for booking their own accommodation and ski pass. There is a very good local bus network, so feel free to look for accommodation outside St. Moritz (I plan to stay in Pontresina). Make sure to use the Sleep + Ski deals to lock-in a 47CHF/day price for the ski pass, otherwise ski passes bought on the day are priced dynamically and can easily be in excess of 100CHF.
Getting there
Public transport: 2 train connections per hour from Zurich HB via Chur @xx:07 and xx:38
By car: St. Moritz can be reached either via the Julier Pass or using the the car train through the Vereina tunnel, although the former option is preferable. The current status of the mountain pass roads can be checked here. I plan to drive from Zurich on Friday morning.
Coordination
We'll use this Telegram chat group to coordinate travel arrangements (by public transport or car pooling offers/requests) and finding roommates for shared accommodation.
How to join this event
- Join the Telegram chat group and read event comments to find out about the other participants' travel/accommodation plans
- Organise/book your own accommodation and travel.
- Introduce yourself stating your ski level.
Arrival day
Given not everyone will arrive at the same time, it will be good to meet in the evening to discuss the plan for the following days over dinner (details TBD closer to the date). There is also the possibility to go for an easy winter hike in the afternoon.Disclaimer
I am not a ski instructor/tour guide. Everyone joining this event does so at their own risk and liability.
