it was a great weekend. Kathleen: Special thank to you for organizing the event. We have to come back to Ticino to explore more spots there.

    May 5, 2013

    • Patrick

I fully agree however it becomes more and more difficult to find spots where we have not been given that we hiked verzasca valley, we did valle maggie, did monte tamaro hike, did hikes around bellinzona, went over monte salvatore etc. but will see if I can find something.

The hike were great but I gotta say my legs and lower back feel it today. Even my ass is sore. Who organised these crazy, up and down, almost 50km hikes this weekend at the BEGINNING of the hiking season anyway :)

In addition to the great weather, spectacular views and hiking paths, I enjoyed the silence in this part of CH - far away from the daily rumble of cities.

    May 6, 2013

  • Kathleen

All in all the weekend was fantastic. No one died, no one broke anything. The food was great, the company fantastic, the smiles enriching. The silence while we all simultaneous devoured the chocolate desert was special. Thanks to an amazing group of 24 individuals who could handle almost anything with a smile :)

Great even some ended up really lost up in high mtns, 2 were attacked by a vicious dog, 5 fell down hills on slippery rocks, some struggled with knees pains on the steep bits, parts of the path were flooded, we got separated into splinter groups, we walked through a huge pile of cow dung, we came across a potential bee swarm, a small group of us got thrown out of restaurant, we got stuck in pouring rain a few times, Janice & I almost fell over the cliff at the waterfall AND we were literally shot at.

Weather seems good for saturday and sunday, at least no rain forecasted. @Kathleen, are group reservations being made on the train?

    May 2, 2013

    • Kathleen

The other 12 persons I have not heard from, or they are driving or they will take a train from somewhere else, or a later train.

      May 2, 2013

    • Kathleen

Just to be clear to everyone. I did not mention your name about but I know that Anja is coming from Basel, Burr & Patricia are driving, Cesar joins us Saturday, Gaye & Zsolt are unsure of which train they will take, Guillaume & Patrick & Shaun I have not heard from, Wolfgang is coming from Rapperswil, Maggie & husband will join us Saturday from Locarno. That is the other 12.

    All,

Am looking for a roommate... anyone?
I am a clean, funny, intelligent, sociable, well travelled, solvent guy :)

    April 18, 2013

    • Patrick

Dear All, without knowing all the details - please bear in mind that as a group and as an individual we would like to come back to some of the above places. Making all these calls with changes, cancellations etc. does not look very professional and show Meetup or the organizers in a bad daylight. Thanks for your understanding.

      April 23, 2013

    • Kathleen

THANKS PATRICK! You are 110% right. I have been handling all changes in the past few days.

      April 23, 2013

  • Krzysztof

I forgot about my sola run, my team will kill me if I decline it, maybe next time!

    April 23, 2013

  • Patricia

Hi I just got an email that a spot is free. I very much would like to take it, am happy to share a room or I will look also to book a room tonight. Thanks, patricia

    April 21, 2013

    • Kai

I think the website will automatically send a letter to everybody who are in the waiting list while there is one. But if we don't be respond FAST enough the spot will be taken by someone else soon.

      April 22, 2013

    • Kai

BTW, Patricia. I have to say that your event is really popular. I am trying very hard to squeeze myself in :(

      April 22, 2013

  • Lenka

Hello Patricia,I would share the room with you,but I am still not sure if I am in.Will wait what Kathleen says.

    April 21, 2013

    • Kathleen

thank you for waiting for feedback from me. As it says on this event there are no free spots.

      April 21, 2013

  • Janice S.

Hi, I will take a free spot; and I have just booked a room at the Hotel Turisti. I would like a menu on both Fri and Sat night. Thanks for organizing.

    April 21, 2013

    • Kathleen

Hi, Janice there are no free spots and you are already a confirmed attendee.

      April 21, 2013

  • Lenka

I just wonder, I have received an email that I am confirmed but why I see myself still on waiting list....?

    April 21, 2013

    • Kathleen

Hello Lenka, I do not know why but the Meetup web site is messed up. It keeps moving people around in the events. If you keep getting emails saying that you are or are not part of the Ticino Meetup Event please ignore them. They are not from me. Unless you get a personal email from ME Kathleen Hicks such as this. Please ignore emails about the Ticino event. thanks
      Kathleen

      April 21, 2013

  • Lenka

    Hello, anyone need a roommate?

    April 21, 2013

  • Lenka

Hello Kathleen, I would like both dinners please. And also need a roomate.

    April 21, 2013

  • Kathleen

Hello, If you are looking for a roommate for the Ticino wknd, since single rooms, are hard to find I can tell you this....

Please write a post here and let people know you are looking to share a room or send persons who have signed up an email directly.

    cheers,
    Kathleen

    April 18, 2013

  • Wolfgang L

I already made my reservation here:
    http://www.ca-stella.ch/index.html
I^ve been the first one from "hike and outdoor". Rooms for single persons are rare. For the ones who want to reserve there please refer to meetup-group to let them know who can share rooms.

    April 16, 2013

      April 16, 2013

    • Kathleen

you are right. the first 25 who sign up will get a spot. but this meetup should have been limited.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
