I'm coming off a four-day hike ending in Tirano on Sunday afternoon so I will meet you guys at the train station in Zernez tomorrow!

    Hi Zahia,
depending on weather condition on Monday we go up the Macun or stay down the Inn valley, actually we face a 50% rain/storm probability. We will meet as indicated and start the day from Zernez, I suggest to buy a one way 2nd cl. from Zurich to Zerenz first (30.-CHF), the return ticked shall be bought in the afternoon.

    Dear Hikers,
I am checking the weather forecast frequently: in case of "unstable" conditions (rain) we take the train to Zerenz as indicated and hike to Guarda within the "lowlands" mostly alonside the Inn river. Depending on the situation we can go back to ZH from Lavin, Guarda or another village (we can decide on Monday morning). As you all know doing a T3-8h hike under bad weather situations is not the very best.

Dear Liliana, I am open to do the hike also from the other way around or if wanted from Lavin to Macun and back to Lavin. Any suggestion is welcome.

Hi Marion, people say the hike is nicer - and also easiier on our knees - if done the other way around. Would that be an option? Thanks for organizing,

I did the hike last autumn and although the other way round has a less steep ascent, the way down from Munt Baselgia to Zernez in return IMHO is fairly boring and mind-numbing.

Its great hike, did it some years ago in opposite direction. Demanding but definitely rewarding, would have joined if it was on weekend. Dont forget to stop at Heidi's house, its on the way :-) Wish you good weather, aleks
