Andermatt /Camona da Maighels

Dear All, The idea would be to walk from Oberalppass (2044 meters) to the hut Camona da Maighels (2310 meters), have lunch here and then go further to Andermatt. On the trip from Oberalppass to Camona da Maighels we pass by Lai da Tuma, which is a mountain sea/lake and which is the source of one of the biggest rivers in Europe, i.e. the Rhine. The hike from Oberalppass to Camona da Maighels take 2 to 2,5 hours. From Camona da Maighels to Andermatt (1440 meter above sea level), the track is mainly downhill- passing by Lolenpass (2399 meter), highest point in canton Uri. I estimate this part to be between 3 to 3,5 hours since the path in the other direction (uphill) takes just 4 hours. So total hiking time: 5- 6 hours Some more info- photos can be found on www.maighelshuette.ch The hours of the train are: Departure 7.31 AM-> arrival 9.01 Göschenen Departure 9.12 AM-> arrival 9.22 Andermatt Departure 9.27 AM-> arrival 9.47 Oberalppass Return Departure Andermatt 16.48-> arrival 18.49 Zurich HB To bring along: * sturdy shoes * suncream * good mood * drinking water * since we are in the mountains and whether can change at any time, please bring along protective raingear I have been told that there is small menu for day tours ("kleine karte fur tagesgäste") at Camona da Maighels hut. For some of you who do not like to eat there, please bring along your own food. Kind regards

I am pleasantly surprised that such a large audience is planning to turn up. I am not a big fan of lengthy legal disclaimers, but will now make an exception. Since a group of 50 is different than hiking with few and since I do not know several people or their fitness levels, please note that legally I am not an organizer and do not accept any liability for whatever reason. Each of you voluntarily comes along and accepts this by signing up this site.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
