Hiking from Glaris towards Sertig via Rinerhorn (Graubunden)

  • November 3, 2013 · 7:15 AM

Dear All,

As the weather is getting cooler, I suggest to warm up with a hike from Glaris (1450 meter) towards Spina (1587m), Riederalp (1764m) and towards the Rinerhorn (2053m). From here we hike down towards Sertig Dorfli (see photo below -1850 meter). The hike is about 600 meters up and 200 meters down, technical the hike is easy. In Sertig there is a restaurant and there is also a bus stop which takes us back to Davos. Total hiking time is around 4 hours- 5 hours depending on speed, number of stops etc. My idea is to eat at the hotel, so for those who are hungry/very hungry please bring snacks/food along as I assuming that we will arrive in restaurant around 1 pm.

The plan is to take the train at 6.37 am arriving in chur at 7.52, departing at 7.58 am arriving in filisur at 9.01 am, departing 9.04 am arriving at 9.20 am in davos glaris.

To bring along:

* You are doing this hike on your own responsibility - the organizer is not taking any responsibility and declines all responsibility for claims/damages.

* Good mood/Smile

* Snacks, water, food for along the way

* As we are in the mountain and weather can change any time please bring along rain-gear

* To avoid last minute cancellations for whatever reason- please only sign up if you intend on coming. For those who cancel the day before (saturday) I will charge a flat fee of 10 CHF.

PS If there is minimal rain/snow the hike will go through as planned however in case the weather forecast provides for significant rain/snow then I will cancel this hike.

    Hi Patrick, I'm sorry I want to cancel. I am a beginner and thought I should start under better conditions. Apologies and please let me know the bank account.

    Hey! I just got in Basel last week and I would like to join. Is it to late to get in the group? How much is it? And, do you plan all the train tickets, buses and other costs? I can pay you cash in the morning before the train ride.

      Dear Henri, feel free to join - there are no cost involved for coming. Only when you would sign up but do not come there is a 10 CHF charge. I only make reservations for trains - tickets have to be bought directly by you.
