8-9h hike across the one-of-a-kind MACUN National Park/lakes with highest hiking point 3.000 meters.

Meetup under the Angel ZH-HB at 06:20
ZH/HB at 06:37 to Landquart (07:41)-(07:49) to Sagliains (08:53)-(08:56) to Zernez (09:06) (train to Pontresina)

•Start: Zernez
•End: Lavin •highest hiking point: Munt Baseglia (2945m)
long hike upwards (ca. 4-5h) from Zernez, medium difficult ascent
•Additional option depending on time and weather of 30 minutes walk around the lake area of Macun (very recommendable)
•Hiking down (ca. 3-4h) pretty steep scree slopes!

Overnight stay in a nice, relaxing and typical place in Lavin: The price for the night is 105.- CHF p.P in a double room, if you wish to have a 3 course menu on Sunday add 32.- CHF, to be transferred to my bank account that will be provided upon your signing up to the hike. Your place is fixed after your payment (limit 10 hikers/n.r.).

Activity planned for Sunday in Lavin: visiting the beautiful village, drinks, lots of ice-creams, relax and enjoy our lives. (Train to ZH HB every hour at XX:55 last one at 20:55)

Technical Data:
Height difference: ca. 1500m, hiking time: ca. 8h (without the "30 minutes round Macun"), quite good condition necessary, hiking sticks recommended, excellent chance to "meetup" with rare capricorns, marmots will be everywhere (and watch us), absolutely unique Alp-flora (only within this 14 day window every year).

* The organizer is not responsible for any bodily injury or other accidents that might happen during the hike. By signing up on this activity, the participants agree that the organizer will not be held responsible in any way. Although the hike is not complicated, it is each individual responsibility to ensure that they can do the hike and check out the trail.
* To bring along : hiking boots, rain gear, water (minimum 1 liter bottle, water supply is limited), snack, lunch (lunch will be taken on the trails), camera, smile, positive attitude, sun cream.
* In case there is lots of rain, storm etc. then of course, due to security reasons, this hike does not take place. In such a case we will walk from Zernez to Lavin alongside the River Inn and stay in the lowland area.

UUUPS, these were indeed two freaky days, walking in the rains, some of you comin' close to their personal physical and mental frontiers.
Think that we all learned a lot what is possible and what shall better not be touched. Anyhow I tried to give my best in explaining these delicate topics beforehand, but whole life is a process of continuous learning and development. As I had fever during these days my reaction was pretty clear, but I am looking forward in getting this mountain at the very earliest convenience!

Hi Gordon thank you so much for your act of kindness - you did not only wait for me but you gave up your only walking stick and lent your scarf to help me keep my hands warm. It's great to experience and receive an act of kindness from somebody you just met. I hope to pass it on to others. Keep it up and continue to pass it on. Thank you very much

Hi Marlon thank you for going with the hike even if you were not feeling well. I hope that your condition did not get worse from the rain. FYI I'm heading home and gave my double room booking to Gordon. Thank you.
