Subject: [hiking-287] New Hiking Z?rich Organizer

Dear Outdoor Fans of Switzerland,

Regretfully, Dweep has stepped down as the Organizer for the Hiking Group Z?rich. However, I'm pleased to announce that I will take over this group and hope that I can keep up with the high standards and successfulness that Dweep has built up so far for this group.

When I first arrived to Switzerland a couple of years ago, I soon realized the great potential for everyone, specially for new-comers, to enjoy Switzerland in his fullest and socialize big time by attending hiking groups. I also learned how easy and uncomplicated it is to organize a very good hike: Transportation schedule is set out to perfection, signs are marked everywhere, and only little preparation is required for the group not to get lost. Hiking in Switzerland is designed to "Wake-up-and-go-on-the-spot". I also gained some experience on where to search for trails that are the least crowded, but nevertheless the most beautiful...something like the inside-local hiking secrets.

As I?m settling back to Z?rich after a stay in the U.S., it will take sometime for me to organize some events. Once I found a place to live in Z?rich (I?m living outside the city for now), I'll be able to fully commit to this group. In the meanwhile, I strongly encourage for everyone that wants to get together to organize something through this Meetup Group, either for a short get-to-know event after work, an hike or a ski day. Also, since I never went windsurfing, rock climbing (near Z?rich there is one of the biggest Indoor Climbing Gym of the World!), paragliding or alike, I might not be the perfect candidate to organize these. Therefore, if anyone wants to do something like this, please let me know, and we will see how to organize a nice group for these.

I just would like to remind you again that this is a social group without legal commitments and where everyone is responsible for the own actions and decisions. The hiking difficulty level might be varied, but, despite the fact that I will inquire beforehand, there is no total certainty of this level on the hikes. The rest of my little liability paragraph is to mention the importance for everyone to apply their common-sense.

Also, although my intention is not lucrative, I appreciate any monetary contributions, since the Meetup platform does charge a fee of USD 12.- a month to the organizer. I might ask for little tiny charge on the hike I will be organizing. Any leftovers will be used for extra expenses on the hiking group itself.

Finally, it is worth to mention that this will be a great year for fun hiking and other activities that we will organize as a group. Hope to see you soon!!!

Best wishes,

Sven
