What: Snowshoe Hiking Hasliberg - Meiringen

When: Sunday, February 7,[masked]:45 AM

Hi folks,

So far we have taken advantage of the winter season by skiing, skating, sledging and xcountry skiing. Next on the list is snowshoe hiking. And there is plenty of soft smooth snow to do snowshoe hiking as it should be.

So, here is the plan (subject to slight changes). We go to Hasliberg near Engelberg where we will meet guides that will show us where and how to hike on snowshoes. For those that remember last years even in Melchsee Frutt, this was really fun and beautiful.

The hike itself will be about 2 - 2.5 hours long, specially designed for beginners to be introduced to this sport and for advanced to enjoy the beautiful hiking trails through snow and trees.

The prices that includes train ride, gondola, guide and renting out the shoes and poles is CHF 68.00 for Halbtax and CHF 99.20 for full adults. GA's will need to pay some amount as well, yet to be determined.

We meet at 08:45am at the Z?rich Mainstation under the big weird angel in front of the SBB offices. The train schedule is as follows:

Z?rich HB ab 09:04
Luzern an 09:49
Luzern ab 09:55
Br?nig-Hasliberg an 10:55
Br?nig-Hasliberg ab 11:00 BUS 107
Hasliberg Reuti, Dorf an 11:20

Then we take the gondola up to Bidmi. Where we will meet the guides and rent out the snowshoes and start at 12:30. Take the gondola to M?gisalp, then start our hike back to Bidmi. Have something to drink and eat at Bidmi Restaurant.

Take the gondola back to Hasliberg Reut to take the train back for the following schedule.

Hasliberg Reuti, Dorf ab 17:27 BUS 320
Br?nig-Hasliberg, Bahnhof an 17:47
Br?nig-Hasliberg ab 17:57
Luzern an 19:04
Luzern ab 19:10
Z?rich HB an 19:56

To bring along:

- Ski / Wintercloth / Gloves
- Sunglasses and Sunprotection
- Water, snacks and sandwiches
- Good stable hiking shoes (no good idea with coming on sneakers).

Here is what I need to know from you (that will be asked when you sign) since I will buy a Groupticket:
- Do you want to be included in the Groupticket? (If not, please see instructions below).
- Do you have a GA, Halbtax or "none"?

Instruction for those not included in the Groupticket. I assume you don't want to be included since you won't join as in Z?rich HB (you might join us in between or you come by car), then please be conscious that you will need to rent out your own snowshoes and pay an amount for the snowshoe guide.

I will put a limit on 30 people. Please be conscious about your RSVP and change it on-time. Those in the Waiting List, you might have a chance to come. Please give me a call or email me to see if space is available.

Important: this event is subject to be changed or cancelled due to bad weather or other out-of-hand reasons. Even though you will be notified per email of any changes, please check on your own the status of the event by going to this Meetup Website on the night before the event.

Although I will take any measures available to me to avoid any accidents, I don't take any responsibility of any type of accidents that might happen in our event.

Well, I guess that is it for now. Updates will be submitted in due time.

Hope to see you then!
