How to change the world

To those who came to Gian Andrea's presentation and wanted to discuss more. I would like to turn the subject from how the world works to how to change the world.

Is it possible to change the world? together with: is it desirable or necessary at all?

If not, why not. If you say it is not possible to change you don't need to say whether you find it desirable/possible or not.

if yes, what is in your view on what specifically needs to change? give details on specific steps. Describe how you imagine the process could be...

How could this happen? (your view again)

I will tell you my views of this in ten minutes.

Then each person will have a limited time to tell their views (depending on how many of us). We do not give feedback or refute each person, we only listen, make a pause and then tell our own views.

Then we can discuss the whole thing...

I would like to take this opportunity to ask for a donation of 2CHF (or more if you can afford it) for a present from the meet up members that attend to Gian Andrea.

Thanks so much, look forward to an interesting time.

Hi as I was not at Gian-Andrea^s first presentation, I asked him to send me some slides or so to be better informed. Since I got, after two emails, no feed-back I felt not well prepared enough to follow you this evening. -as Maria wrote this event was for "those who came to Gian Andrea's presentation" only- so I stayed home Besides, no problem, the meetup group I like a lot and of course all events so far. but as you know a meetup in Zurich is combined with approx 1.5 hours (or more, depending on traffic) in the car, so it has to match right?

    I hope you had fun
, see you all next time

Hi Johnny, thanks for the message. you were very considerate, but it was not an actual requirement. There were a few people who had not been at Gian's presentation. a summary was given for them by Gian. Have a great day! Maria

I love this idea. A great focus for reflection and conversation. Unfortunately I can't make it in January but hope it happens again later. Enjoy

Hi all! in addition to whatever you would like to say, I have a suggestion for Monday: choose something; an activity or set of activities, place, event, or object that inspires you quite strongly and see if there is a way to use this to produce a sort of good wave in the world. Let us not be too religious in terms of what is a good wave. Creativity is at play... and visualising is really powerful. As for this meeting, I'd take it as an opportunity to express your good (even if crazy) ideas and creativity in a free way. The universe is listening!

It's so great that already a few of us are planning to come to take part in this conversation. We will start at 7pm, Not Guilty closes at 9pm, if we wish then we can go to another place nearby. Volkshaus for example. Have a wonderful new year celebration, a great new year 2014 and look forward to seeing you!

to give an idea, I think the world is pretty much in a very undesirable state and it is most likely unrepairable short-term, in that I think I agree with many. I don't think as many new age people that 'the world is perfect' and nothing need to be done etc etc... People are in a basic level living beings and as such have to deal with the natural urges to reproduce, urge which is used by the economic model of 'prosperity'... inequality is huge and increases etc... the system encourages to spend what you earn and to be an active part in a sort of frenzy of consumption as opposed to creativity and empathy.

i am not an expert managing these complex scenarios, but i am getting better though! I hope more experienced people and eager young minds can share their experiences.

Yes of course the idea is to talk about this in a very relaxed way. I say these rules to start with to try to ensure whoever is present has a chance to say what they think and be listened to.:-).
