Discussion on Human Rights (& relation to UN, EU, Hague etc)

creating this meetup on behalf of a friend...

Please join us for an exciting discussion!

Stefan Schlegel of the Amnesty International Lawyers and director of the workshop European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), has agreed to do this workshop for the first time in English for the expat community!

I had the pleasure of participating in the German workshop last week, it was a big hit, and I look forward to hearing it again in English.

Stefan Schlegel researches constitutional and international law at the University of Bern and board member of Foraus - Forum foreign policy. He will outline the relationship between the ECHR, Euro Europe, EU, International Criminal Court in The Hague and the UN.

We will discuss a definition for human rights beyond politics/religion and touch on the position of international law and impact of SVP.

We will conclude with : what we can do here in Switzerland to support Human Rights? It will be very interactive !

The workshop will last approximately 1 hour, and after we will walk to a nearby pub to continue the discussion further - or just discuss life in general !

No cost to attend. I look forward to meeting you next Tuesday!

I am looking forward to meeting you all soon. In case any one is concerned about missing Brazil v. Mexico tomorrow, FYI it will be playing at the nearby pub that we will walk to after the discussion. So we can enjoy the game while we chat :)

Great Topic! Take remind that child-slavery is more popular in our time than it was ever before (over 100'Million Slaves) in the whole human history. Here some impression how Switzerland is involved:
    Lovely greetings from London^^lg
