Polish, Russian and other Slavic Languages Exchange

Cześć, привет and hallo,

here is another brand-new option to practise your foreign languages. We will meet to practice Russian and Polish. On request, we are adding other Slavic languages to the mix, too, especially Czech and Ukrainian are welcome. Whoever comes though should speak a bit of either Russian or Polish, too, because we cannot guarantee enough Ukrainian or Czech learners.

We will meet at Starbucks as usual and split into groups of 4-6 people. We will try to have a good speaker of the language or a native in every group. And we will simply talk and try to improve our languages also by listening to others, getting advice and corrections, asking questions. Irina, one of the event organizers, will bring some materials like board games, books, and magazines in Russian. If someone can bring some Polish materials or magazines, please do so! Anyone is welcome to bring anything that can be of good use to practise conversation.

If you are a native speaker and wish to help out, that would be awesome. Helping to study a language is a great pleasure, too.

Please make sure to RSVP if you intend to come and cancel RSVP if you suddenly can’t so we can see how many people will be actually there which helps us with the organization of things. Thanks!

If you have any questions feel free to contact the organizers or event hosts.

See you soon!

Irina and Lukas

Hey Folks, just a correction to the previous statement, there will in fact be more of this meetup in the future. It's just going to take a bit of time for us to arrange it, as the likely hosts are currently busy with their work/studies.
Meanwhile if anyone is interested in hosting this meetup in the future, please contact me.

I can try to orginize a next Russian Language Exchange meetup. Ahoo, what do I need to do for that?

Hi Evgeny, thanks a lot for your offer of help. =) What you have to do is actually quite simple, you can read the few guidlines here:
      http://www.meetup.com...
The rest of us can help you with whatever you may need, and I guess seeing that you're a Russian speaker, you're pretty much set. ;)

      Cheers!

Certainly a shame - enjoyed both Meetups immensely. If you simply need a break from organizing, perhaps others can assist? I'd be happy to help out.

Hi Cornelia, thank you. There will be no more Slavic language meetups in this group though for now, sorry.

Oh, not? I really enjoyed the last one. Why won't there be another Slavic meetup for now?
Or will it be split up?

Hi Irina. I know the group has reached the max number of participants but my friend Olga from Russia would like to join as well and help managing the Russian group. Could she come along on Thursday?
