BBQ @ Rolling Hills - JULY 20th

Hello Everyone,

I am thrilled to see so many responses and people looking forward to the BBQ on July 20th. Because of the great response on here and the response I have gotten from another group we are looking at around 50 people and growing. So with that said I decided to change the format a little as I don’t want to be responsible for purchasing a couple kegs (as one won’t be enough ;-).

So at this time it will be a Bring Your Own Beer (BYOB) party. I will still have a grill there and which I plan on getting hot dogs and burgers and if you all would like to bring a dish to pass or just contribute some cash that would be great. If you plan on bringing something feel free to comment on what you are bringing below for all to see so we don’t have to many duplicates.

I look forward to a Great July 20th BBQ and look forward to having fun with you all

Thanks,

-Kirk-

Hello Everyone!!!

In spirit of looking forward to a fun summer I’ve decided to take the lead and plan a Mid-Summer BBQ outing for July 20th. I have booked the Sunshine Pavilion in Ypsilanti’s Rolling Hills Park and the festivities start at 11:00 am. Feel free to show up earlier if you are bored as a few of us will be there setting up. If you have never been to Rolling Hills Park in Ypsilanti rest assure there are plenty of things to do. Right next to our pavilion is a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pit, an 18 hole disc golf course and a decent waterpark (that is reasonably priced). On top of that I will be bringing a variety of games for everyone to enjoy such as Ladder Ball, Cornhole, Cups for Tippy cup and Beer Pong, I have numerous Disc’s for disc golf, I’m going try and get horseshoe stakes and shoes. If you have a volleyball please bring one as mine just sprung a hole.

I have already paid a $100 for the pavilion for the day and that will be my donation to this party so the FUN will go on rain or shine.

Also feel free to bring your kids as long as you understand this is a party more geared towards adults and I’m sure there will be some heavy drinking and some accidental cuss words from time to time.

If you have questions feel free e-mail me @ [masked] or leave a comment and I will try and respond ASAP.

Kirk, please post whatever you need people to bring, thanks. Also, the park entrance fee is $9 for non Washtenaw County residents.

Here is the link to the waterpark site map so you can see where the Sunshine pavilion is, and also pictures so you don't get lost. Basically from Stony Creek Road, turn into the park, through the gate, and stay straight through the round-about, and the pavilion is on the left after about 1,000 feet.

I joined Michigan Adventures Club about 3 years ago, but never really took advantage of it. I am joining this adventure club to restart my connection to people with similar interests. I look forward to getting out and meeting new people. I hike extensively, but end usually going with my awesome son or flying solo. IT would be nice to join the human race again.

I live 5 mins from there, so if anyone wants to park in my complex and car pool together to save the $5, let me know. I'm on the lake.

Thanks for the heads up. I adjusted my purchase today for the hot dogs.

Just an FYI so it doesn’t catch people off guard that Rollin Hills park does charge a $5 fee for Washtenaw county residents per day to park. Sorry I forgot to mention this but it slipped my mind until someone just reminded me. You could always park and carpool together to save money too.
