I'm training to climb hills in the Smoky Mountain National Forest. In order to play in the waterfalls and enjoy the mountain view, I have to make sure I can get my butt up the hills. :)
Drive through the medical center to get to the river entrance. We will hike into the Arb to the overlook. Then the challenge is to see how many times you can go up and down the overlook trail. You can choose from three ways up. There's a paved path, a staircase and a dirt path. My goal is to go up and down 12 times.
It may rain during this event. I DO NOT care...that may be refreshing.
Here's a map of the park and information:
Please bring some water, and set your own goal. Hopefully, we can cheer each other on.
Afterwards, how about carpooling to Ben and Jerry's on State Street for ice cream? It's only a mile away. Heck, we could even walk there.
...and after that, anyone is welcome to come to Roundtree Apartments in Ypsilant to jump in the pool with me.
