Outdoor Pre-Halloween Costume Mixer at the Michigan Renaissance Festival

Why dress up for Medieval times to go party at the Michigan Renaissance Festival? While it is still warm out, let's get dressed up in our favorite Halloween costume and have an outdoor Pre-Halloween Costume party. We will bring the best fun from the two annual celebrations to the last weekend of Michigan Renaissance Festival which features the “Sweet Ending” theme including Cupcake Crusades, Chocolate Festival, Pie Eating Contest, Wine Tasting and many more! Come out to mix and mingle with us while enjoying a variety of shows and food.

Let's meet at 12 noon at the ticket booth dressed up in our favorite costume, and head out to explore the festival. It is NOT MANDATORY TO COME IN A COSTUME. If you do not feel like playing Halloween early, just come in your normal cloth and we will party all the same. There will be a variety of shows such as comedy, sword fighting, mud show, circus and many more. As for food, not only will we be able to eat like Kings and Queens, enjoying the all time favorites such as Turkey Drumstick, but we will also get to entertain our sweet tooth in this special theme weekend!

Fencing/Juggling Competition – Anyone who is brave enough to enter the fencing/juggling competition while dressed up as a Bubble Bee or Ladybug will be rewarded with a Turkey Drumstick.

Feel free to use the comments area for carpool arrangement. Tickets for adults at the Michigan Renaissance Festival are $20.95 and students with valid school ID are $18.95. Discount tickets also at: Walgreens, Kroger and Menards.

If you are lost, feel free to contact me at[masked]

Raincheck date is Saturday, Sept 28th.

Thanks for the heads up Noelle. Are you and your friend going as part of the meet up or are you doing your own thing? (Just so I can know who to expect at the gate.)

I was there yesterday & had a blast. Here's what I learned: The food lines were very long & the only good food was the turkey legs. The food lines past the Jousting area were shorter at lunch time. You can bring water bottles in but not anything else. There is a McDonald's/ gas station when you get off the highway on the left (if you are going up 23 North) to load up on water/ food then nothing else. Many things are Cash Only, so bring cash, but there is an ATM at the entrance.

Whether carpooling or meeting at the gate, I'll be wearing a blue jacket with a Lake Trust credit union logo. It looks like there will be showers off and on so dress appropriately.

Noelle, steph, darin, and sonia. We're set for the carpool. Might be a little tight in the back--I drive a toyota corolla, but I think it will be OK. Meeting location still TBD.

I just found out that I will be out of town this weekend. As I would not personally able to attend this event, would anyone be interested to step up to be the event host for this event?

That I think I can manage. How do I get that cool Event Host moniker on my profile?

Done. Thanks, Kurt! You are now the event host of this event. I will keep the group posted on the weather forecast up till Thursday, and you can make a determination if moving the event to Saturday will be beneficial. Have fun!

From what the weather forecast indicates, we might have some rain on Sunday. I might send out a proposed change to change it to Saturday if this forecast persists into the middle of this week.

I would be able to make Saturday!

If anyone can't make it to this event or wants to go twice, I posted a meetup for the Sunday before (22nd)
