We love it when you bring a dish!
Which means, please bring your favorite, home-prepared raw vegan dish. Look up recipe ideas on Google, take a quest to your favorite bookstore, ask US.
If you can't bring a dish let us know by May 3rd and we will make extra goodies; we only ask that you contribute $15 to the cost.
When you RSVP, there is a space for you to include up to 2 guests. If you're going to bring someone, please use that method instead of emailing separately or adding a comment. We also kindly ask that you update your RSVP if your plans change. Email with any questions.
HERE IS A LITTLE HELP UNDERSTANDING RAW VEGAN FOOD....
Raw Vegan foods, also known as Living Foods, are simply fresh fruits, nuts and vegetables. Raw living foods are packed with enzymes, which are responsible for every metabolic action in the body. Its widely accepted that heating foods above 118 degrees destroys the enzyme content. So we serve no cooked , canned, or processed foods.
We are a Vegan Potluck as well, so we serve no dairy, eggs, sugar, or meat. Also we are an alcohol free space.
The raw food diet is one of abundance. There are at least 150 foods to choose from. We prepare and eat whole and unprocessed fruits, vegetables, sprouted or soaked legumes, nuts, seeds and sea vegetables.
There are many exciting recipes, books, and websites with tasty recipes to help guide us, and help with our confidence as we explore together this fresh and delicious way to eat and live.
At our ABQ Raw Potlucks we bring dishes that are composed of fresh, organic ingredients, or of foods prepared in the dehydrator at a temperature not above 118 degrees. Our Potlucks are an informal way to come together, meet friends, enjoy great foods and each other.
