January 1, 2011
I picked up the ACIM book sometime between 2002 and 2005, but did not read it. I came back to it almost two years ago after re-entering its sphere through Gary Renard's "Disappearance of the Universe." I've been studying regularly since Feb 2010.
To learn from others living ACIM to the best of their abilities, share insights, and grow more of a sustained consistency of extending true forgiveness and peace in my life to those who appear as "others." And laugh more light-heartedly doing it.
Hi! My name is Lamont. I'm a middle-aged engineer who has been interested in philosophy and mysticism since I was a teenager. My spiritual pursuits have been varied and are now centered on ACIM. And I'm tired of keeping myself "alone" in that.
I enjoy the group. While there are frequently new attendees exploring this venue for the first time, there is also a relatively stable core of people who consistently attend and contribute their accumulating wisdom to the discussions that regularly occur. I also find that I learn the most by listening and observing far more than by being quick to talk and "expound" (not that I don't break down and give in to that urge anyway...). It's a good place to go to find articulate people who are earnest Course students the rest of the month (in between meetings) as well as during a meeting. After regularly attending for the last 15 months, I figured it was definitely time to share my experience/perception of the group in writing. I've lounged around long enough! Come and find out for yourself if this will be a nourishing venue to grow into the Course. Only you can tell...
