Song Writing Workshop & Show with CLIFF EBERHARDT this weekend

From: Linda
Sent on: Wednesday, August 22, 2012 4:15 AM
Last minute opportunity:  In conjunction with CLIFF EBERHARDT'S show this Friday evening in Morristown, NJ at the Minstrel (www.folkproject.org), there will be a song writing workshop with Cliff on Saturday in Fort Lee, NJ.  3 hours.
  • Song Structure: Intros, Outros, Bridges, and Breaks, will be explored. Cliff will listen to songs written by participants and suggest how changing a phrase or chord can make the melodies more interesting. His goal is to "inspire students to take a new look at their approach to their work. I generally let the class tell me what they're most interested in learning and gear my teaching to satisfy those interests."
  • Anyone who wants to participate should bring a song they're working on, that they have not yet recorded, and their instrument of choice (if they play one - some past participants have not).
  • Cliff has a great deal of teaching experience, most recently and repeatedly at SAMW and Swannanoa, where he always received the highest instructor ratings.  This year, from April - June, he performed his original music in the Folger Shakespeare Theatre's production of the Taming of the Shrew, in Washington, DC, receiving rave reviews (we've counted 26 reviews).  His new CD, Shrew Songs, is all acoustic and one of Cliff's best.

The cost for the 3-hour workshop is $35.  If you're interested, please reply to let me know and I'll provide details, including the address.

And don't forget Cliff's show, Friday August 24th, at the Minstrel in Morristown, NJ.  8:00PM (Doors at 7:30).  Cost:  $7 plus donation to the artist(s).
