Hi, my name is Maria. I would like to join your group to help me learn more how to ensure my dog is behaved on hikes.
I have 4 dogs (one is a foster), though I usually only take one of the 3 younger ones. CJ, 7, neutered male, mix (husky/rotti/shepard), Dilli, 10, neutered male, mix (cocker spaniel/collie), Bella (foster), 3, spayed female, lab mix. All of my dogs are friendly, though sometimes have bad manners. I usually take CJ on hikes as he is much larger then the others an requires more exercise.
Hopefully I can get some tips on how to get my dogs to act better on hikes (stop trying to play with everyone and not cry and jump when he (cj) sees other dogs) and make new friends.
My two favorite places to take my dogs for a hike are Great falls park and the Battlefields. I really like both the open field trails and the wooded trails at battlefield, but the woods sometimes has a lot of ticks. Great falls is a really nice area, but has a lot of other people with dogs. It also includes some rock climbing (not much), but it has never made a difference for my dogs they enjoy it anyways.
Unfortunately no we are not working towards any titles. Though I would not mind getting into agility with CJ, I know he would do well as he likes to jump my 5/5.5 foot fence with ease!!!
