Hi, I am a hike loving dog owner. I bring 1-2 of my girls on hikes at a time. I'd love to learn about new hiking places and to meet new people who love it as much as I do. We are extremely active and always doing new things...
Molly- She is a rescue that I adopted when she was 1 1/2 and is now 3. She was scared of everything from strangers to sounds to you name it. She was the neglected, abused, not socialized pup. Now she loves life and loves to work a crowd for attention. She is my top hiker and can walk off lead. Maggie- She is my old girl. She is now 10 1/2 but shhhh, she does not know it. She does a good job of keeping up with the others. She is all about the car ride. She was a rescue that I got when she was 6 months old. She is my spunky dog. Bella-She is my 3 yr old pit mix rescue that I got when she was 3 years old. She's a laid back dog but surprisingly also my alpha. We go to the dog park all the time. She also loves to go to the Mt. Vernon estate. Ruby- I got her in August when she was 10 months old. She was in bad shape when I got her.She continues to improve but she is scared of people besides myself. She has come such a long way! She is a lab mix. She likes to hike also.
I am seeking other people who enjoy spending time with their dogs and hiking. I would love a trail club that offered a range of types of hikes and that offers them on weekends and maybe even some evenings during the week...like sunset hikes, etc.
I am not interested in backpacking for overnight, etc. I am content with day hikes. My favorite places include: Sky Meadow State Park, Mt. Vernon Estate, Elizabeth Hartwell Refuge, local trails near my house, George Washington National Forest, Great Falls, Schloss (although it has been a long, long time), etc.
Nope. Just living life to its fullest, which is enough for us..

Hi Laurie,
Welcome to Washington Kayak Club. The Pungo 120 is a great all around kayak and many of the members have one. Let us know how we can help you. The Occoquan or Potomac aren't quite like paddling in Alaska, but northern Virginia is still a great paddling location.
Hey Laurie,
Thanks for joining the group! I'm excited to meet you and your pups! You do such a great services rescuing these guys! We'll get Ruby socialized in no time!
