BeginnerDistance: 1-3 milesTerrain: Flat; wide; very stable
These hikes are great for small or very young dogs and anyone new to hiking. These are designed for humans and canines of all ages and skill levels.
EasyDistance: 3-6 milesTerrain: Flat to hilly; wide to single file; stable
Due to the slightly longer distance than the Beginner hikes, these hikes are suitable for anyone brushing up on their hiking skills or looking to take the next step up in difficulty. Dogs no younger than adolescent age will do best on these hikes.
MediumDistance: 4-8 milesTerrain: Moderate elevation gain; single file to narrow; slightly uneven
These trails may feature brief sections of steep, narrow, or uneven terrain totaling no more than 2-miles of the entire trip length. Best suited for humans and canines in fair physical condition with some hiking experience.
HardDistance: 5+ milesTerrain: Steep elevation gain; narrow; uneven
Trips may be labeled Hard due to steep and uneven terrain or to very long distances or a combination of all three. Hard hikes are recommended for experienced hikers, both human and canine, who are in good physical condition.
