Hey Karoli & Phil,

Sad to see you guys get removed....

This happens when greed gets hold of you.

When you make profits..... on the basis of a forum based business.

Here is my view and why I have decided to leave that group.

This is not just for one group but my opinion resides for all meetup groups.

I totally understand the need to charge people attending a shoot, I understand that professional models ?need to get some sort of compensation.
I believe that when time is offered by the model then photographers should do the same.

What I don’t agree with is as a photographer being charged good money and not seeing the models getting paid one cent.

Like i said, if they are professionals then all is good, but when they are starting out it shouldn’t be profited from.

I don’t believe in making profits on the basis of a “forum based” business.

I have spent over ?15k on gear and I love the opportunity to offer my services to these meetup groups for love, I don’t ask for a cent, and at best I will pay for the cost for services including studio hire etc.

I just don’t get the idea of paying good money for nothing short of “organising a meet”.

If its a business, then call it that and go somewhere else. Call it a workshop and charge accordingly.

It seems that I will stay away from those groups making profits, it defeats the purpose of forums and what they stand for.

I also hope that in light of all this talk that someone will make a stand on exactly the way photographers and models exchange photographs.

I don’t feel comfortable in handing over 100 photos.

I don’t mind 5, but not 100, a model release form should be completed before any photo is taken.

Trust me when I say, otherwise you will get taken.

Anyway,

Enough crap..

All the best,

Pete

Looks like they don't want the problems that go with a meetup group actually having MEMBERS!!!

Yep, Thanks for removing me as well chessie, I only joined two days ago. You certainly wouldn't want to be associated with anyone who might question you eh?

Looks like the groups Karoli and I run on meetup would be too much competition for you to deal with anyway..

Thanks Chessie,

The reason is not clear, but it can remain between us.
since (from today) you are the organizer of the group "London Fashion and Modeling Network"
you removing members if you feel they are competing with you!
With this step you remove the chance from the other members too ...

I want to remember what a free "artist" or "creative" mean!
ps: this is a thank you message, do not reply
