Preparing Holiday Baskets

It's that time of the year again!!

Hey Everyone!

Once again A.O.K. will be assisting the Blind Center of Nevada with making their holiday gift baskets that are sold to the community as a major fundraiser for their organization. Each year volunteers fill orders of over 1,200 of these delectable baskets. These beautiful handmade delights have been filled with loving care for the past few years by A.O.K. volunteers.

We're going to assemble each basket with an assortment of gourmet treats (that we will actually be making) from decadent chocolates to exotic specialties. Wrap it up in cellophane and then for the finishing touch, we'll accent each masterpiece with a beautiful bow!

This event will be from 10:00am-2:00pm. No need to bring anything, all the supplies will be there for us. Bring a friend if you'd like, come for an hour or stay for the day. Please no children under 14. As always, please RSVP with integrity. Hosting this event will be Samantha Steele, Program Manager with the Blind Center.

If you have any questions, you can post them below and either myself or Samantha will respond ASAP.

Thank you,

As always, it was a great experience working with BCN. Everyone was so dedicated and worked really hard. :) Hope to see everyone again real soon. However, I do have one comment. Since these are food preparation / distribution events, I don't think it's very wise to have dogs/animals present at this kind of function. As a former health care giver, I do not believe it is SANITARY. I personally love dogs/pets, however in this kind of situation, I suggest to leave your pets at home. ALSO, chocolate and popcorn is NOT Ideally for dogs / pets to be eaten even accidently. thank you.

Hello Wonderful Claudia! As always, your help at the center and with our members is greatly appreciated. I just wanted to let you know the dog that was here was a service dog. Other than that circumstance, I totally agree with you. Have a great week and we will see you Saturday:)

It was my first time helping, I had fun and am planning a return next Saturday. When I saw what we were doing, I was worried I'd end up covered in popcorn and chocolate. But I came out clean!!! LOL! Bringing an apron next week...not trying for a record. See you all again!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
