It is a BIG, BIG thing: Round Two

There will be no AOK organizer in attendance at this event, but Kyle Dunlap, an AOK member and a BBBS staff  member, will be the event organizer.

One of our favorite members, Shay, is a Big Sister right here in Las Vegas, and when she talks about her Little Sister and the time that they share, her eyes light up. It is obvious that they both get so very much from their special bond.

Tonight, you will have a chance to join us at the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Office to learn how you too could become a BIG or help the organization grow.

The evening will begin with a  brief presentation of the organization and what being a big brother or big sister entails. A member of the staff will discuss other short term volunteer opportunities, such as the ambassador initiatives. During the Q&A session, all attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.

A small mixer with volunteers and staff will follow. Light refreshments and beverages will be served as well.

Before you start thinking that you just don't have the time, consider that Big Brothers/Big Sisters asks for just 4 hours per month, with a one year commitment to a child (1-on-1 mentoring) for the  traditional program. For the community ambassador program, volunteers are asked to complete an orientation and then commit to at least 2-3 events at which they will represent the organization in the community with the goal of recruiting mentors for the traditional program.

You could make a BIG difference in the life of a child.

Please RSVP with  integrity and as always, give a shout if you have questions.

Thank you for being a part of AOK.

      Hi Libbey,

The presentation and Q&A session should last no more than 45 minutes. I hope to see you on Wednesday! Feel free to bring a friend or two!

      Thanks for the question!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
