Changing perspectives. Changing lives.

For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mission: provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters Vision: all children achieve success in life.

Thank you so incredibly much AOK members who showed up in force with smiles on your faces!!!:) From all of us at BBBS, we truly appreciate your hard work and dedication to our cause. Most volunteers showed up early, and stayed all the way until the very end. Excellent legwork guys! Most importantly, we were able to give away over 300 pairs of shoes, backpacks, school uniforms and school supplies to kids who need them the most. We certainly couldn't have done it all without you. I look forward to working with all of you in the future:)

It was a great event. Loved seeing the faces of the kids when they found just the right pair of shoes! My son loved being a "runner" - he felt very useful. :-)

This sounds like it was a wonderful event, I am sorry i missed it. I was on the wait list but didn't hear anything for a few days. The night before the event I received a notice late the night before. Unfortunately, I was out for the evening and couldn't make it. Hopefully in the future we can get a bit more advanced notice.

what a wonderful event, all the smiling kids faces was amazing.
Out of the 32 folks who signed up, I wonder how many actually did as I don't think there were any where near that many. Please, if you are not able to attend, change your status as there were folks on the wait list who I am sure would have loved to help out.

For those who did not specify a shift, you were placed on the 1PM-4PM shift. If you specified that you were open to any shift, please come at 3 and try to stay until 5PM for breakdown. We will assign you to one of 6 positions once you arrive and get a name tag.
