Southern Nevada Cleans Up - East Las Vegas

It's something we all see as we drive around our wonderful city; area's that really could use some TLC. Through multiple event's, the City of Las Vegas has been actively trying to clean up some area's on the east side of town.

Let's join them on thier next cleanup and help keep our city beautiful and able to be enjoyed by all.
Join other Las Vegas residents as they clean up and improve the park, Las Vegas Wash and surrounding community on the east side of Las Vegas.

Volunteers are needed to remove graffiti, pick up trash and litter, paint curbs and fire hydrants and touch up murals in east Las Vegas.

This is a great opportunity for families, groups and those that like to be outside when they volunteer - the weather should be ideal this time of year!

Volunteers must wear closed toe shoes, and weather appropriate attire. City officials will provide all needed supplies for the cleanup. If you plan on being part of the 'painting crews' please make sure you wear clothes you don't mind getting a little paint on.

Hope to see you there!

I will be there. I also may bring a couple more friends to help. I live on that side of town and I would love to get involved and give something back to the community. It would be nice to meet some of the other members as well.

It says family friendly above? I have a toddler, can I bring him with me?

Hi Shalene, this is not a good event for a toddler.

I look forward to getting involved. I love to help people and community when possible. I like outdoor activities as well as indoor. As to the clean-up job, for example, do we bring our own tools and materials such as gloves, trash bags, brush, bucket, etc? I imagine so and I have my own stuff but I am just wondering. I am fairly new to Vegas and before I came here, I was in Indiana and Kentucky for many years.

On Oct 13th the Homewood Park neighborhood is having a clean up day. We are located on the SE side in Clark County S off Desert Inn and North off Twain. West off Boulder Hwy and East off Backstage Blvd. We can use all the help we can get from dumpsters to graffiti painting.

Pardon my medical take; volunteers for this should seriously consider making sure their tetanus (TdaP) is within the past ten years! Probably bringing gardening-type gloves wouldn't hurt, either. All about safety, too!

Good point Lisa! Usually for events like this, those that choose to participate in the cleanup portion are provided gloves, but always a good idea to bring your own as well!
