Each day visually impaired men and women enjoy a warm, welcoming environment at The Blind Center of Nevada, and for many, the work opportunity and social activities have become a way of life. The Blind Center strives to create a positive social setting outside the home for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
At the Blind Center of Nevada, members of the center have the opportunity to go shopping each week for food, clothing and miscellaneous items, assisted by volunteers. For some of the members, this is the only means of transportation to be able to get to a store.
Volunteers: Five dependable helpers from A.O.K. are requested to assist those needing to shop today. Schedule: meet at the Center at 9:00am help serve the morning coffee and have some pleasant chit chat. At 9:30am, (more or less) we accompany the blind and visually impaired to Wal-Mart. Transportation is provided by the Center in their deluxe vans.
Your go to person at The Blind Center is A.O.K. member, Samantha Steele. She is also the Program Manager with the Center.
Volunteer commitment time is 2.5 hours
Thanks so much!
