We will also discuss the new Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 tools and how you can build mobile applications using Flash Builder and Dreamweaver.

Make Money With Your Mobile Application

Dan Florio - polyGeek - had a crazy idea. He thought it would be cool to build a website that told people the best times to run and pee during a movie. He didn't think it would amount to much but it would be fun to build. Fortunately enough people around the world thought it was useful enough to spend a few bucks on the iPhone app version. Now Dan watches a lot of movies - to get the peetimes for every movie - and spends the rest of his time working on new project ideas and living off the income from the website/iPhone app.

Everyone has ideas for new websites, games or applications. This presentation is primarily aimed at encouraging other developers and designers to find ways to build their ideas and find some monetary success from it. I will briefly cover the history of RunPee.com such as where the idea came from, process of building the app, then launching the website and finally what happened when the site was picked up by the mainstream media. Then I'll talk about general ways to help you figure out what sort of potential your idea might have. Finally I'll cover some of the things that I learned from the success of RunPee ranging from technical/coding issues to marketing the site.

Everyone is welcome to meetup early at 6pm at Smashburger near the UNLV campus. Hang out and grab a bite before the meeting.

Smashburger is located at 4725 South Maryland Parkway. It's next to In'N'Out Burger. We'll walk over to the meeting together.

Parking

You can park in any spot on campus except for reserved parking after 7pm. If you park in metered parking, you do not need to put money in the meter.

We are meeting in the UNLV Classroom Building Complex CBC C120.

CBC is the Classroom Building Complex and is located near the Thomas & Mack Center. There are three buildings as part of the complex and we meet in building "C" in room 120.
