This location is shown only to members
Any topic, questions, comments you may have at all about non-duality, Advaita, Buddhism, enlightenment, awakening, or almost any other spiritual or philosophical discussion is welcome! But don't expect any official answers. No Gurus or Sages here! Just us average people talking among ourselves!
The "official" time of the Meetup is 6pm to 7:30pm but come when you can. People tend to wander in between 6pm and 6:30pm. Everyone is also welcome to stay as much beyond 7:30pm as they wish but some of us need to leave around that time.
This venue offers appetizers, light meals, unique wine, craft beer, soft drinks, or just come join us for some lively discussion! They have some really comfy sofas inside and a very nice patio outside for those pleasant evenings. Mondays are usually the most quiet night of the week especially at the early time our group meets. I have two other Meetups that gather here. The owners and staff know me quite well and give our Meetup groups first class friendly service.
Below are a list of suggested books for those of you that would like to explore the topic of Non-Duality a little more. You are not required to have read any of them to attend the Meetup.
Nirmala: Nothing Personal - Seeing Beyond The Illusion of a Separate Self (2001)
Nathan Gill: Already Awake (2006), Being the bottom line (2006),
Tony Parsons: As It Is: The Open Secret to Living an Awakened Life
Plus some good books on Buddhism which has Non-Duality at its roots:
Buddhism without Beliefs by Stephen Batchelor (1998)
Buddhism is Not What You Think: Finding Freedom Beyond Beliefs by Steve Hagen (2004)
Buddhism Plain and Simple (1998)
Or, you can just read an extensive set of quotes from the above and many other books at Advaitism.com
How can one awaken or find enlightenment? Can a character in a novel find the ink on the paper? In the story of the novel a person goes up to a Sage and asks: "How can I find the ink on the paper?" The Sage replies: "You ARE the ink on the paper." -- Brian William Drisko, 17-Dec-2009 1600 [masked]
The above is just a suggestion to break the ice. I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on it, or to start our discussion anywhere else you'd like!

I'm here! In the patio out back with the heater turned on.
