Spring Trip to Hocking Hills

  • Apr 24, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

I removed the Wait List RSVP's since they have not yet responded to wanting a spot. The campsite is large, so housing isn't an issue, just warm, cozy, with water, space is limited to 1 more bed.

Reserved Cabin, Acorn, 4 rooms and 5 double beds. Price $180 per bed for the 3 nights. Plus $12 per night if you are sharing your bed.

Reserved Cabin, Hickory has 2 bdrms. There is 3 full beds, and a couch. Price is $180 per bed for the 3 nights. Plus $12 per night if sharing your bed.

Other costs: TBD such as park entrance fees, gas sharing in your carpools, etc.

How to sign up: Pay your $22 commitment fee, arrange your lodging. Email me to get my address. Mail me the $180 fee. Once your fee is received and you are confirmed as a paid AQ member (see note below), you'll be moved to attending.  You'll receive $20 of your commitment fee back at the event.

All deposits are non-refundable, but you can sell your spot to another.

NOTE: AQ has an annual $5 membership fee. This fee must be paid before you'll be accepted on this trip. It is not built into the trip fees.

Let's visit incredible Hocking Hills. If you've never been there and don't know anything about it, check it out the following the links:

http://www.hockinghills.com/parks.html

http://www.explorehockinghills.com/

We will spend an extended weekend there, leaving Detroit area after work on Thursday to arrive in the Hocking Hills area by night.

We will be returning home on Sunday in the evening.

In the area, we will be going on a lot of hikes visiting the local natural attractions (again, see the above links for more info). Other possible activities, if there is enough interest, include: zip lines, horseback riding, bike riding...

The commitment fee of $20 is NON-refundable, but will be returned to persons participating in the trip. (Paypal usage fees are non-refundable)

Thanks Kelly for organizing this wonderful trip. I really needed this break to get rid of the bitter winter.
Thanks for everyone (including Kelly again) for being accommodating, understanding and nice.

The question has arisen. What are y'all's thoughts on food. Potluck meals, try and coordinate, everyone fend for themselves, etc? I'm leaning toward, fend for yourself for breakfast/lunch/snacks, make or bring a dish to share for dinners.

    Got the email.

I got the message. Still too early for me to finalize plans. It seems that I am the only person from Ann Arbor. Mostly will leave around 4 on Thu and return around noon on Sunday.

Mike is in Canton. I know its early, but I'm not looking for definates just generalities of what everyone is thinking at this point. Since I don't have the luxury of waiting to provide my timing.

Got the message. I am in Quebec now...my request for days off should be approved when I am back. I should be able to leave any time since I don't drive and need to carpool. I am flexible... Thanks for organizing this Kelly!

I'll send it out again to everyone when I'm at my computer in a few hours. Check spam mail if you don't see anything in your inbox by noon.

Last Monday I sent everyone going an email. I've gotten zero responses. Did anyone receive it? I got a copy, so I'm fairly certain it sent.

Yes, we'll be car pooling. I'm sure we can get you in someone's car depending on what time you/they are leaving.

    Hi Folks:
I'm no longer able to attend and would love to sell my spot! I'd be willing to part with the non-refundable commitment fee, would be happy to sell my spot. If interested, please email [masked].

    Thanks!
    Emily

I have 6 (maybe 7) beds taken of the 5 in the first cabin. Truly looking for at least one more commitment to come in pretty quickly here so I can book the second cabin while it is still available. Any takers?
