Meet at the trailhead, parking lot is on the north side, just a bit past the ranger station, at 5:15. Hike to start promptly at 5:30.
Hike will cancel for foul weather. Check the calendar before leaving for the hike. Hike will cancel no later than 3 p.m. on the day of the hike, thus providing ample notification.
Dress for the weather. Highly suggest hiking boots or the like with ankle support and solid toes. Terrain is easy, but stumps and rocks are hidden under the leaves and snow. If you are not sure footed, trekking poles are suggested.
Although we'll hike whenever feasible without lighting, it's wise to bring a headlamp or flashlight for moonless or overly cloudy nights. I strongly recommend a red light setting. You'll still be able to see the ground, but you won't kill yours or anyone else's night vision.
For those interested, we'll discuss concluding our adventure at a local watering hole. Suggestions welcome. Default location Applebee's at Beck and Grand River.
