Pontiac Lk Rec Area Hike

  • Mar 23, 2014 · 1:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

I keep hearing from people how great hiking is at the Pontiac Lake Recreation Area. Therefore, let's go and have a hike there. We will hike about 6 - 7 miles at the moderately fast pace (3.5 mph).

We will meet in the main parking area (north section) that you access from Williams Lake Rd.

Links for the park and trail maps:

In case of inclement weather the hike will be cancelled and the website will be updated by noon the day of the hike.

Michigan Recreational Passport required

Do not follow GPS directions for Pontiac Lk Rec Area. Instead use the intersection of Hatchery Rd and Williams Lake Rd for GPS directions.

After the hike, we will go to Dave & Amy's (9595 Highland Rd, White Lake) to eat, drink and socialize. The place is about 2.5 miles west of Williams Lake Rd.

Hope to see you there,

Really nice group of people. Just wish the snow was gome & I'd had better shoes! Live & Learn. Thanks all for the nice time.

Folks, does anyone know how to get the recreational passport instantly? I do not have one right now.

How long would you estimate the hike to be from beginning to end?

We would be done with hike by 3:30, assuming we can maintain the pace.
