Let's try again for Friday, even though the weather is "iffy" again.  Therefore, check the event page for updates before the ride!

We will bike a medium paced 18 miles (round trip) from Rochester to Lake Orion and back on the flat crushed limestone/dirt path (so mountain or other fat tire bike is recommended).  This rail trail passes through the residential wooded area following Paint Creek.  There is a slight uphill incline towards Lake Orion.  Estimated bike time: 2 hours

However, if you like to ride shorter distance and at a slower pace you are still welcome to join us there and ride part of the trail (since this is out-n-back trail) on your own and join us for socializing later at the Mills.

Bring with you:

Helmet (required)

Water bottle(s)

Spare tire and basic bike maintenance tools (just in case…)

Post ride celebration: After riding we will stop at the Rochester Mills (410 Water Street, Rochester, MI 48307, www.rochestermillsbeerco.com ) to eat, drink and socialize.

If you plan on going to the Mills after the ride, you need to sign up by Thursday! You can still sign up for the ride on Friday, but there will be no reservation for you at Rochester Mills.

This event may be cancelled in case of the inclement weather, therefore check the event page before leaving!

Trapped in the office for a little longer. It doesn't look like I'll be out in time. Good luck with the weather. It looks like a storm may be coming in from Jackson. I really wanted to test Tracy's Muddy Tire Suction Theory! :)

As much I would like to ride this evening, I would hate to make an unnecessary trip--I just live too far away to risk it. I'm in Detroit at the moment and it is raining very hard.

The weather forecast for tonight does NOT look good. If it doesn't improve, we might have to cancel. Therefore, check this page around 4:30 for possible updates...

A little rain and mud won't hurt anyone ..... well, then again, there is Tracy ...

actually, it was dry that day with nice warm sunshine. Muddy conditions cause a suction effect on tire. Helping to stay upright when biking . ; )
