Get more miles on the bike!
Bike about 18 miles (round trip) from Rochester to Lake Orion and back on the flat gravel path (so mountain or other fat tire bike is recommended) going through the residential wooded area following Paint Creek.
Be sure, that you are comfortable with biking the mentioned distance and maintain a pace of at least 8 to 12 mph. (We want to be done before it gets dark.) Helmet is required! Also bring with you spare tire and basic bike maintenance tools. Just in case…
Post ride celebration: After riding we will move few blocks to Rochester Mills (410 Water Street, Rochester, MI 48307, www.rochestermillsbeerco.com ) to eat, drink and socialize (this is the 2nd part of the duathlon) :-)
Rochester Rd is under construction in downtown Rochester and only one lane is open each way, so you might want to take alternate route coming to the park. One of the options is to drive from the east side and park by the library or the brewery and ride the bike on the trail to the park.
This event might be canceled in case of the inclement weather, therefore check the event page before leaving your house.
Hope to see you there,
