Snowmobiling

Lake Tahoe Adventures has been taking visitors from around the world on scenic backcountry snowmobile tours for more than twenty years. Experienced professional guides lead small groups into the wild Sierra highcountry and bring them back smiling. They offer Hope Valley Snowmobile Tours lasting approximately 2 or more hours in length that pass through some of Tahoe's best snowmobiling backcountry. Select from one of the options below to get more information.

After a brief orientation, a safety talk, and driving instruction, guests drive themselves, following their guide. The trail climbs rapidly, quickly heading deep into the backcountry. Looking west across Faith Valley, visitors see the dramatic Sierra Crest at nearly 10,000 feet. Crossing Charity Valley below Markleeville Peak the trail passes historic cabins built by early settlers. Following the rim of Charity Canyon and another climb to 8,300 feet, it levels out for a view of a peak very appropriately named The Nipple.

Cost for a 2 hour tour is $120 for a single $160 for a double
Helmets, Boots, and Gloves included! Goggles and Snowsuit available for rent

Dog Sledding

Husky Express Dog Sled Tours offers sled rides for anyone who wants to experience the beauty of the winter landscape and the thrill of dog sledding. 25-year veteran musher Dotty Dennis will take you on a tour of Hope Valley aboard her sled, behind a team of well-trained dogs. Tours last about an hour and cover 5 miles of beautiful countryside amid Sierra peaks.

The sled can carry a total load of 375 pounds (including gear), which usually adds up to two adults and one or two small children.
Fee: $240 (a box lunch for $10 can be added with advance notice)
For reservations call (775) 782-3047.

Running Creek Sled Dogs is located on Highway 88 at the entrance to Kirkwood Resort. They will take you out for a sled ride with an experienced guide and an energetic team of Siberian Huskies. The sleds can carry up to 450 pounds, which usually means two adults and one or two small children.

The 30-minute scenic Meadow Loop whisks through the snowy meadows of Kirkwood. Adults $85, children $45

Adventure Ride allows you to ride on the back of the sled with the musher, rather than sit inside. Adults $130, children $60.

Moonlight Tours available by arrangement.
Please make reservations at least 24 hours in advance: (775)[masked]

Snow Tubing

Kirkwood Resort's tube hill is open on weekends and holidays. On Saturdays it operates 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM and on Sundays from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM. I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
