Have you ever reached a point in an adventure (race or not) where getting dirtier/wetter didn't matter any more? Did that feel like despair or freedom?

The dirtier and wetter the better...It's freedom, baby, yeah!

Have you ever mountain biked on a trail at night?

The Burn race encompassed my first night ride. I recommend charging one's light fully so you are not forced to hit trees repeatedly whilst using headlamp ;)

Have you learned how to use a compass and map to navigate?

In the process of learning....

Have you participated in an adventure race before? What is interesting to you about AR?

Just started a couple of years ago...mud, getting dirty, friends, silly challenges, jumping logs, getting incredibly excited over finding little orange and white boxes in trees,....what's not to like?

What's your strongest AR discipline - biking, paddling, trekking, ropes, navigation? Your weakest?

My positive attitude ;) After that, it's probably biking and paddling. Just learning navigation and have a long ways to go!

Introduction

I'm a relative newbie to adventure racing having discovered how much fun the sport was after participating in a few shorter races: the Flying Frog in Greensboro, STW in SC, and the 9-1-1 race at Umstead. Really want to get more women involved.
