Have you ever reached a point in an adventure (race or not) where getting dirtier/wetter didn't matter any more? Did that feel like despair or freedom?

No answer yet

Have you ever mountain biked on a trail at night?

Have you learned how to use a compass and map to navigate?

Yes, I've been doing that since boy scouts

Have you participated in an adventure race before? What is interesting to you about AR?

yes. I've done 911 Adv Challenge the past four years; one PRAXIS last year, the Soup Bowl, and ORATT. Too many athletes are one or two event oriented. AR forces familiarization w/lots of events, flexibility and dealing with the unexpected.

What's your strongest AR discipline - biking, paddling, trekking, ropes, navigation? Your weakest?

Strongest: swimming, long training since for 2004 for triathlon Strong: biking, trekking, land nav, run is okay No boat, haven't paddled in a long time Ropes: I used to a rock climb a lot, a little rusty

I've been hooked on adventure racing and multisport since 2004. I'm originally from Chapel Hill, have lived in Wake County for 20 years. I nieces & a nephew who live in great AR training locations (Marin Co CA & rural hilly NY)

What Uncle A. is saying about this Meetup Group

A lot of people came out; this sport has some following around here. It can only get better. I also like the notification system for practice events and also for actual races
