I consider this to be a half-day hike since we will be done by Noon. This will work well since I have to study Sunday after.
Rattlesnake ledges is a popular hike. However, fewer people remember the old trails. So on this hike, we will go up one old trail, and down another. It's steep for sure, and more scenic. Round trip, this hike is less than four miles. Total elevation is less than 1,300 feet. Once at the top, will explore 3 ledges.
For those people interested, there are actually 5 routes I know of up the Rattlesnake Ledges without using any technical gear. I will point these routes out on this hike.
**What to Bring**
· Traction Devices
· A warm layer clothes, 2 liters of water, and other day hiking essentials
As we near the top of the first ledge, beginner-level scrambling skills are required.
