Elevation: 3,200 Feet
Distance: 10+ Miles
Level of Difficulty: Strenuous Hike
This is a great loop hike especially if you like instant gratification. The steepest part of the hike is up Hall Creek in the beginning. However, with all the views, we will take it slow with many breaks to soak in the scenery, and visit Hall Creek Viewpoint. After the break, this hike will continue up the Change Creek valley, past no-name lake, and up to the Great Wall. From here, Mt. Washington summit is mostly a road walk. The hike back will be down the Mt. Washington trial to the Iron Horse Trail, back to the car to close off othe loop.
On this journey, we will see caves, waterfalls, and great views of North Bend and I-90 corridor. Expect some section with snow patches.
With this large loop hike, and another break on top of Mt Washington, I don't expect to be back to the parking lot until 5:00 p.m.
If it's a rainy day, I will make this a shorter hike up and down Hall Creek (back by 1:00 p.m. latest).
Note: I have room for 5 to carpool. Last time I used this trailhead in April 2013, no Discover Pass was required.
**Note on Conditioning**
This is a long hike and steep in places with a lot of elevation gain. You need to be involved in regular exercise to consider this hike.
